I really don't even see how the PS2 is holding up as well as it has. I think it is just fan loyalty from the PSX. I think the Wii and the XBOX 360 are going to knock it out of the water. That is of course, if Nintendo gets some better games than they had on the GC. I think the new Zelda will the the initial pull towards the system. I imagine XBOX 360 will reign at the top though.
Well, the PS2 had several things going for it. By the time the PS2 and the XBox came out, I remember that it seemed that most people had Nintendo written off as a has-been company and that it would be forced to do like Sega and drop its own system and publish games based on its own properites like Mario, Legend of Zelda, and Donkey Kong, for other systems. But in the end, the GC was a success. I think that the PS3 has many problems going against it, one of the biggest being that it is really expensive. I think we'll have to wait a bit before we see who gets the best games, but I think that the PS3 will join many other systems, like the Neo-Geo, CD-i, and 3DO as being failures, mostly due to the fact they cost too much.
