The first complete rough edit is now complete and I've watched it on my TV. I must say that I'm happier at this point than I was with TSOSW. I still need to tighten up a few spots, but it's really close. The editing and pacing of this album is frenetic, to say the least. At roughly 43 minutes long, it's 6 to 7 minutes shorter than TSOSW. Differing somewhat from TSOSW, timeline continuity is not always respected. For example, the final lightsaber duel utilizes sound clips from the 1st, 2nd, and final duels. It works fine for an audio edit and moves the story just fine. Unfortunately, syncing video footage leaves us with continuity problems periodically. This happens much more often than with TSOSW audio. Just one of those things I'll have to live with, I guess.
There are a few things going on behind the scenes right now that are going to really make this thing shine. That said, I think this is going to surpass TSOSW as a final product in every way.
Oh yeah, the PCM audio sounds GREAT on my stereo (although I never had a problem with Scotty Balls' original mp3's and can't really tell any difference). The narrator's (Malachi Throne) voice has a nice and deep, but cutting, frequency. Once the edit is finalized I'll start on the color correction....
