This isn't about which format one prefers, as long as the full quality of the Cinemax broadcast is captured and preserved. What do you mean it can't be recorded from Cinemax, no one else has mentioned any such thing? The German t.v. broadcast of A New Hope in 1080 HD which that fan on the other forum recorded works just fine according to him, and it looks superb. So why couldn't the same thing be done with the Cinemax HD presentation?

Good luck. Clearly you dont' know what you're talking about.

You wouldn't need a dual-layered HD DVD disc to fit the movie. Most run 10-15gb. Also, the quality on HD DVD is far better than any broadcast signal. So there's nothing perfect about the HD captures that you'd get anyway. A pre-recorded version will be better if using the same master.

And unless the copyright encryption is turned off where you live (which I doubt) for Cinemax, there's no way to capture it.
