I think right now, he's more busy with getting Halo off the ground than worrying about Evangelion.

Don't overastimate his wish to ruin this anime masterpiece forever. There's always the Movie Muprhy's laws: if an undesired movie gets into some sort of pre-production, it'll be made and it'll be horrible.
