I'm unsure on how many of you are familiar with the video games Knights of the Old Republic I and II, however, the story of the first, in my opinion, is a work of genius. I never saw the plot twist coming at all. If you are unfamiliar with the storyline of the first game, here's a summery: You play an outcast with little-to-nothing to remember your past. You have, however, some dreams of memories and the like. You find out quickly that it's been ten years since a dark lord, Revan, has waged war on the galaxy (his apprentice, Malak, has taken his place since then). Revan since disappeared and was never seen or heard from again. After several side adventures, and towards the end of the story, you find out that you are Revan, although Revan is dead. You get to chose your destiny (i.e. Light or Dark Side).
The question is, with some obvious alternations and the like, do you think this premise would have worked for the Prequel Trilogy (with Anakin as the character with an unknown past, but exceptional Force skills; unknowingly to himself and everyone else that he was a dark lord from the past who forgot his past)? Obviously whoever he was as the dark lord before he was turned back to Anakin would be dead;however, after finding out that he was the war lord that he has been hunting (either on his own, or from Palpatine) would probably push anyone into self-hatred, thus, after many side plots, Darth Vader is born...
What do you guys think?
Man, and I was thinking about buying that game one of these days too, but you have to go and ruin the ending. Thanks a lot, spanky.
