Alien Subtitles In The GOUT

Can someone please post me screenshots of what the alien subtitles look like in the GOUT versions of ANH and ROTJ?

I've already got the GOUT, but I've got it tucked away, and I really don't want to pull it all out just to look at this one thing.

Ugh, the subtitles BUG me. I want ORIGINAL Star Wars where the subtitles are printed on the screen and - whether it was done cleverly intentionally or not - distract perfectly from the imperfections of the Greedo costume.

The GOUT has, 'natch, below the screen, black-bar resident subtitles in a different font and different color than appeared in the 1977 film. Bah.

Yeah, that drives me crazy, too.

And imperfections in the Greedo costume? I never noticed. I guess the subtitles did their job.

There is no lingerie in space…

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

you sir....have an excellent idea there.

I've not watched these new discs on a widescreen TV to save myself the hassle of caring about how they look as much, i've accepted that for now, this is al I'll get. I do personally think all alien languages should be hardcoded on the picture frame. IMO i looks a lot better and consitant each time you see the movie (different players use different fonts and colors) and the formatting problem wouldn't be an issue.

And yes, I am aware not everyone that watches SW speaks english so soft subs are kinda necessary (which would cause the cropping again) but i don't see it pissing off anyone having two sets of subtitles on the screen if they can't understand one.

So basically, get your shit together LFL/whoever actually put together the discs specs. A letterbox picture I can eventually just accept, but screwing even that up is lame. You are (were) at the forefront of qaulity control and presentation until 2004, why just stop giving a shit.

Yes, i realize this stuff has been said many times before but I had to say it myself.

Hey look, a bear!

The issue over the subtitles not being hard coded into the picture is unfortunate. Of course, Star Wars is not the only example where this has been done (off the top of my head, the Kill Bill DVDs do this as well and there was a whole issue regarding the Bond DVDs). If the issue over language is a problem, just look at DVDs that do include hard coded subtitles. The Lord of the Rings films, for example. The other language subtitles are placed on screen elsewhere. Of course, this ends up looking rather cluttered with all the text onscreen, but it's a tradeoff. Of course, they could've gone with multiple angles, since this is already done with the opening crawls anyway.
