Then Attack of the Clones came out when I was in 7th or 8th grade (so I suppose I was 13) and I remember groaning multiple times in the theater. I thought that it had good stuff in it, but the bad stuff (like the cheesy love dialogue) far outweighed the good.
Then ROTS came out last year, and my friend had to grab my shirt to keep me from walking out of the theater. When the "NOOOOOOO!" scene came, I just buried my head in my hands and sighed. To this day, I have only seen this movie once. I have it on DVD, but I've never sat through the whole thing. To be honest, I can't even make it to Dooku's decapitation before I just have to turn it off.
What sucks is that I wasn't predisposed to hating these movies; quite the contrary. I wanted SO BADLY for them to be great, and they just, quite frankly, sucked. I realized how badly written, badly directed, and badly acted they were. I can still watch the O-OT (I own the 2004 DVDs, but I'm not sure if I've watched any of them all the way through), but I can't even remember the last time I watched an OT movie.
So there you have it. If the kids are smart enough to figure it out, they'll realize that the PT is just a passing fad while the O-OT will remain cinematic classics (or at least the first one will). I came to this conclusion on my own, and I'm sure they can too.
