Yeah, I don't get them using Gwen Stacy either.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Yes, well, my concern is that the relationships will be Spider-Man in Dawson's Creek.

True, but the guy's life does kinda suck.

Which is why he's sarcastic - using sarcasm as a defense mechanism against all the things in his life that suck.

A Spider-Man's Dawson's Creek... that thought disgusts me.

Bryce Dallas Howard looks awful with blonde hair.

I've heard that Gwen Stacy was brought in because Kristen Dunst has refused to return as MJ because she hates Toby Maguire, so they've decided to basically reverse the roles that MJ and Gwen Stacy played in the comic book, by killing off MJ and having him end up with Gwen Stacy. Don't know if its true or not, but I've heard it from several places.
As for Spider-Man III, I'm afraid that its going to end up like Superman III and Batman Forever: it will do well at the boxoffice, but it won't be that good of a film, and won't be remembered well. Personally, I've gotten tired of the Spider-Man movie series, and the endless Peter Parker's life sucks, and giving Harry Osborne more and more reasons to hate Spider-Man with no resolution in sight. Also, it seems like, especially in Spider-man 2, that the villians are minor characters to the drama, and very little action, which every comic book movie needs. I think that they wasted Doctor Octopus, and its too bad, because he was a great villian, and Alfred Molina did a great job in it.

I hope they don't have him end up with Gwen. They've had two movies of us waiting for him to get with MJ. He did. It was a big YAY moment. And when I saw it, I knew that the next film could be relationship struggle free and we could have flat out action. Instead, we have another romance, soap opera stuggle. I'm not going to be waiting at midnight for this one.

I thought Superman III was a box office failure opposite Return of the Jedi.

If the movies have Spider-Man ending up with Gwen Stacy - a character who DIED in the friggin' comics - that would really suck.

Peter's Creek. That ought to be on the same night as Harry Potter and the Azkaban Redemption. I wonder if there is anyone who actually found that amusing?

Check this out.

Spider-Man 3 Pre-SFX trailer

This had to have been leaked somehow. It shows totally different footage from the teaser trailer, has rough unfinished effects AND VENOM. Full body.

Damn!

Looking forward to Spider-Man 3, but in a way I'm getting tired of the series already. I hate the fact that they seem to have postponed the resolution of the Harry Osborne storyline. They are dragging that out too long and need to resolve it. Also not sure how Venom will work out, but I have hope that it will be good.

I know how you feel. Bringing in Venom and Sandman just seems desperate, and hiring Topher "That 70s Show" Grace as Venom does not sit well with me.

Venom slaps Spider-Man on the back of the head: "DUMBASS!"

In Spidey 2 they wisely chose not to load up on villains, in an attempt not to fall into the same trap as Batman & Robin.

Seems they forgot that with Spidey 3. They could have squeezed three movies out of this one and properly developed each villain (especially Harry, who deserves to be the final baddie based on how the films' story arc has been constructed).

And still no Lizard? WTF??? This isn't news to me, but damn if they shouldn't have moved Dylan Baker to the next level in this film. They should have made Lizard in Part 3, started to work in Eddie Brock in part 3 only to have him become Venom at the end as a cliffhanger, have him be the main villain of part 4, have Harry find out about Peter at the end of Part 4 and have Part 5 as the final battle between these two.

Instead this looks terribly ham-fisted. It'll probably be fun, but not remotely intelligent like the first two tried to be.

I'm surprised that it looks so dark.

That got taken off of youtube. Millions of sites, but somehow Sony managed to find that ONE.

yep saw that...

with what they did with Gobbie in S1 and Dock Oc in S2 I was thinking of a more slick and "realistic" venom.
It's very weird how venom looks like (maybe not his finished form) in Spidey3.. he looks a bit TOO comic-like...

I hope Spidey3 will be good... but as I said before... there's this thin line these guys are walking on considering all these
new story elements added (and there's A LOT... Peter/Gwen Stacy, Venom, Sandman, Harry, Peter/MJ, Peter/Life)...

either Spidey3 is gonna be an epic, or it's going to be very bad.

Heh-heh-heh...but I managed to get a good copy of the trailer, and now it's sitting on my hard drive, next to the comic-con footage. If I figure out how to do video authoring, I'm going to make a Spider-Man 3 Hype disc.
