I know that when I bought mine, it did seem like it took a long time to get started and to finish all the testing, but I think mine was done and shipped in time. Maybe it was a couple days late.
But, you know, it was worth the wait. That computer works like a dream.

Hopefully your trouble is not the result of their being purchased by Dell.
