Help Wanted: My upcoming Episode II fan-edit, title suggestions...

I’m currently in the works of doing an extensive, high quality (in all ways) edit of Episode II, and I will create a project thread for it once it’s ready. I have, however, run into a small pickle. The title. Not that I don’t know what to call it, but just getting it correct.

My idea is The Clone War Begins, because it is a title telling you exactly what happens, which reflects The Empire Strikes Back in a neat way. And it sounds good.

But then a memory popped up in my head of Luke, talking to Ben in his hut, calling it the “Clone War”. Whether or not this memory is correct, I’m not sure.

And so basically, I’m wondering which would be correct:

The Clone War Begins

or

The Clone Wars Begin

Thoughts?

Your memory is right on. So you would be left with "The Clone Wars Begin", which isn't that bad of a title. Just as good as anything George would come up with.

For what it's worth, I thought "Attack of the Clones" was a good title.

Another memory popped up in my head today. At the end of Episode II, Yoda says "Begun, this clone war has." I can't recall any other mention of the war and its name in the movies, so I suppose this ties the score, so to speak.

If it's an open choice I know what I'd go for, but I am not 100% sure about the rules for the English language concerning the difference between "war" and "wars". In Swedish we have the same word for both.


Agreed, AOTC is a good title, but I don't think it really represents the movie. I'm actually thinking about naming my Ep III edit Attack of the Clones.

I'd give more weight to Obi-Wan's pronouciation than Yoda's. Yoda isn't known for his proper grammar.

LEIA: General Kenobi, years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars.

You're absolutely right, THX. "Wars" win by one point.

Putting Batman in it would probably cause some distraction from the main plot and the characters. I've worked hard to eliminate all those kinds of distractions and pull out the basics of the story, which IMO is a really good one.
