DePalma and Ellroy, sounds like a match made in heaven. Thoughts?

Should've been. Wasn't.

BTW, it's "Dahlia."

WOW, the reviews for this are bad. I thought it was disjointed and miscast, and I could name many, many better films, but I didn't think it was that bad. Interesting to see that DePalma mostly stayed away from his "look at me, I'm Hitchcock" stuff, with the exception of starwell sequence. I'm going to go watch L.A. Confidential now. That's how its supposed to be done.

Chinatown is how it's supposed to be done.

An absolute masterpiece and of the finest films that the cinema has ever produced without question. Robert Towne's screenplay is nothing short of brilliant. L.A. Confidential is excellent as well, however.

You know, I've never read any of Ellroy's work. I really should. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

I'm going to read the book to see where Josh Friedman went wrong.
