I bought the Pan and scan version of return of the Jedi (with the OOT disc still Widescreen) so I Wasn't buying the same disc twice, plus allowing me to take high-res stills of undestroyed scenes- now I've got a high quality full screen picture of Han and Leia's embrace during the ending celebration, as well as a few other good stills (when the ewoks set them free and all of them are on screen withen the 1.33:1 frame, for example)
plus, it makes the OOT disc clearly the better choice for watching the movie:
destroyed version: full screen format Modified to fit your screen
Original version: 2.35 Widescreen preserving theatrical presentation
