Regarding the Ford car in Brazil, I must say it's not true. The Pinto was never sold here, not even with a different name. "Pinto" is the word to newborn chickens, and it's a slang identical to "dick" in english, only not as harsh as it is usually not censored on TV broadcasts. Pinto is also a common last name here. The Corcel is a different car and the word does not mean horse - the word for horse is "cavalo". Corcel is a specific race of horses, if I'm not mistaken. Usually the horses found on merry-go-rounds are referenced as corcéis (plural for corcel).
