I heard this movie, as well as Monster Squad was broadcast in widescreen on MonstersHD. The current R1 DVD is pan & scan. Here’s a DVD cover I made for the new HD version, assuming it uses the same menus, audio and subtitle options as the retail R1. I know my copy will. It’s made to match with the retail R1 Child’s Play 2 cover from Universal. I also slightly modified Bride of Chucky, and modified Child’s Play 3 and Seed of Chucky to match. What do you think of this one? Someone wanna host it somewhere?

the monster squad I already did(it is on Myspleen now),I have been doing an HD2DVD collection of rare and non widescreen movies,and whatever else I fell like doing,I have these titles done so far:
The Monster Squad
Sheena
Creature From he Black Lagoon ( and I have Revenge of The Creature also,I may do this too in HD2DVD fashion)
Jaws II
and still looking for more titles to do,I wasnt aware there is NO widescreen version of Childs Play available,I will get it now,and add it to my HD2DVD collection.

A question: would it be possible/worth it to convert that TS file into a PAL DVD? Or should I hold off and wait for darkjedi to make an NTSC DVD from it?

I will get Monster Squad and Child's Play from you dark_jedi. I can't wait! I have the Japanese laserdisc version of MS on DVD, but it's pretty bad quality. Can't wait to get your version of both of these!

The Monster Squad is on Myspleen now,and the last time I checked it was still being seeded very well,it will take a few days for Childs Play,my artwork man is already on the custom HD2DVD artwork,stay tuned.

Jaws II appears to be OAR to me,and no it isnt posted yet,i havent posted Sheena and Creature from the Black Lagoon yet either,but soon

Wow DJ... that Monster Squad looks excellent! I haven't watched it yet, but I did scan through it and was majorly impressed with what I saw! It's safe to say that I can pitch my laserdisc (and the dvd rip that I made from it) in the trash now.

Can't wait to see your Child's Play HiDef rip. That Pan & Scan release is horrible! I can't believe they haven't done a proper release of that dvd yet!!

I don't suppose it makes a difference that Child's Play has already been released in non-anamorphic 1:85:1 in many countries?

The R2 and R4 DVDs did get Child's Play in OAR - but they are non-anamorphic and pretty crappy quality. I'm looking forward to a better looking version of the film. However, I can greatly appreciate that those of you in the states, that have been stuck with a pan & scan transfer, are really looking forward to a widescreen version of the film. Dark_jedi, will your conversion be anamorphic?

ALL my HD2DVD releases are Anamorphic,even Creature Form The Black Lagoon,and the sequel Revenge Of The Creature,although on these 2 titles,there are black bars on the side,and they to are anamorphic,just like shown on HDTV,but if you were to watch either of these on a 4:3 TV,there will be black bars on ALL 4 sides,but these are really for the widescreen owners,I also have Halloween II now,because of all the files rounding up,I havent had time to make my scripts and encode yet,so hoepfully I will get to start in a day or two.
This is the order I will do them:

Jaws II
Childs Play
Revenge OF The Creature
Halloween II

these are already finished:

The Monster Squad
Creature from The Black Lagoon(this has Stereo sound,the original was in mono,but I kept it just the way it was shown on monstersHD,this is probably the same for Revnege as well)

Also every HD2DVD project I do has custom artwork made by my friend TheCassidy,Childs Play is really looking cool too.

Childs Play is done,just waiting on artwork,this is way better that that 4:3 version that we get here in the US,I will finish up Raiders of the Lost Ark before going back to Jaws II,Revenge of the Creature,and who knows what else.

So is Child's Play going to be on MySpleen as well or will it be someplace else? I snagged Monster Squad from myspleen and can't wait for Child's Play. I've hated that fullscreen disc since it first came out. I've wanted a widescreen dvd for soooo long now. If it's as nice as Monster Squad, it will definitely replace my other dvd.

No love at all for my artwork? C'mon! I started this damn thread and made people aware of this great HD presentation. I'd love to see other artwork, but can mine at least be acknoledged? I know mine doesn't say "HD2DVD" on it, but the back does mention HD transfer as a special feature. The other Child's Plays don't say it and I love matching covers for sequels, personally. Can't get enough of 'em!

Your art looks great man, don't get upset yet! My comments were in specific reference to Dark Jedi's release, which will be included on his release. Doesn't mean other folks can't make covers till the cows come home, just that I've been working on a cover for his set.

Your cover is nice - looks a hell of a lot better than any official release! Sorry if I offended you.

1 thing,I agree it looks nice,and I am sorry for not mentioning it either,but if you want it to match what i am releasing,you might want to take off the menu shot,that menu will NOT be on my release,and yes the HD2DVD thing would be nice,but hey like Cassidy said,anyone is free to make whatever they want,and use any one they want,if it is OK with you I will download it and add it to the dvd-rom folder on the disc.
