 (Edited)

Hello, again… ! Yes, it’s about that time that I make a pleading request for anyone good hearted enough…

Does anyone have a copy of Crtierions CE3K? I think someone had made their own multi disc DVD edition of it on here…

I can trade a couple of Fan edits and Preservations that I have…

Sorry if I’m stepping out of line here, it’s just that there is a great thread over at HTF about CE3K and it got me thinking about the Criterion edition…

Thanks for reading.

Regards

Cass

PS… this reminds me are a couple of PIFS I need to do…

Hi there!

I have a good quality back-up of my cherished Criterian 1977 edition release (actually a "reconstruction" of it if we're splitting hairs) of CE3K. I used a stand alone Panasonic DVD recorder on XP mode, and a Pioneer CLD-2950 LD player using very high quality Van Den Hul leads. I also used one DVD-r disc per LD side to max out the picture quality. I'd love to stitch this all together and tweak the picture, then burn to DVD-DL but lack the time/money/software to do this.

If you'd like to do a trade or something please send me a PM.

Cheers!

Thanks to seventiesfilmnut I now have the criterion "reconstruction" ! Hopefully I can get the supplementals from Ash and once I tie it all together I can announce the first Cassius76 production! Many thanks to all involved, rest assured you will be credited!

The reason I'm considering and planning this release of CE3k is my faliure to find it on the web. If anyone has any suggestions on how to tie all this together, please feel free to chip in!

I'm sorry, I hate it when it does that.....

again.. many thanks.. unfortunately, I don't have a LD player

OK. I have the Criterion LD rip now on my hard drive, de-muxed. As it's a 4:3 image with the Letterbox in the middle, Is TMPGenc the best way to crop?

Now, Here is the quandry. DO I just do a straight DVD conversion

OR

Like OCPs STAR WARS CLassic editions, Do I try do "mix in" The missing stuff into the 1998 DVD edition?

I know that might be a bit more than I could handle, as I have never attempted anything like that before....

Any suggestions peeps?

is this going to be the super edit with every bit of footage from all versions added back into the movie?

I seemed to have misplaced my insert for the laserdisc set, and can't find anywhere online that has the sequence of chapters so that I can watch the 77 and/or 80 version. If you own the set, you know what I'm talking about.

Would someone be kind enough to scan their insert for me? Or just type out the chapter lists.

My working theory is that the wife threw it away

Criterion Projects done: She's Gotta Have It, The Princess Bride, The Fisher King

In Progress Criterions: The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (99% done), Taxi Driver (90% done), Citizen Kane (50% done), Othello (99.99% done)

Possibly coming next: Ghostbusters, The Magnificent Ambersons (the theatrical cut, a reconstruction according to Prof. Carringer's script analysis, and the colorized version)
