As for new documentaries, I want to see a feature about the evolution of the Emperor. He was only mentioned in Star Wars, seen briefly as a hologram in Empire which was different than the one portrayed in Jedi and the prequels. I want to hear more about how the character was developed.
Another reason to restore the original films is so they could include a feature about restoring film. It would be great if they how discussed color film that wasn't technicolor faded quickly until a slow fade design was introduced in '83. How film can degrade over time and why Star Wars fared very badly in this respect. How the telecine process has greatly improved in contrast and resolution, so much that earlier transfers don't look as good despite the film stock being in better condition. The various efforts to improve the quality over the years such as the THX cleanup and digitally recompositing blue screen shots.
The fans. You just have to do a spotlight on those who made Lucas a billionaire.
I also want to see a retrospective feature on the prequels like Empire of Dreams that addresses the many criticisms it has and have candid responses about what people who worked on them think. There's probably more deleted scenes plus plenty of additional outtakes and Behind the scenes footage to show. The ep 1 dvd feature was taken from over 600 hours of footage for example.
Of course, if anyone here could make something about any of those ideas, that would be cool too.
