I actually didn't do a lot of that. Mainly because I don't have very good slow-motion software and I can't create new frames in-between to make it smooth enough and professional enough.

What I have been doing, though, is cutting shots so that the movement of the ships is more consistent with the OT. In other words, cutting the long, sweeping, shots where the ship drops out of the air and lands immediately, so that the style is more consistent. It's kind of hard to explain, but you'll see it in the film, particularly in the Clone War sequence.

Fact of the matter is, no matter how much you do to it, they are still going to be technologically much more complex than the OT. There's no getting around it unless you redo all the effects to look like models, which is way out of my league. What I can do, though, is alter the color palette, cinematography, and actual movement of the camera, to emulate the style as best I can.
