Oh, I have a great deal of respect for Hunt. I just know that Jay doesn't like him. The TF.N guys were there? Oh, great. Well, Hunt is right and Lucasfilm just won't listen.

I hope so, but I doubt it.

What Lucasfilm press release was TheForce.net guy reading from? Was Sansweet off camera feeding him lines? Did he say the right things so "Uncle George" will use four fingers on him tonight? Hunts far from my favorite person, but at least he said fans would be satisified with a proper release of the movies, meaning a new modern video transfer.


Easy there . Why wasn't Sansweet or McCallum there? Do Lucasfilm not even have the balls to defend their own products? Or do they know that it is substandard ans simply not want to admit it?

As for the TFN guys, I don't give a shit if they think alienating fans makes Lucas more money. It doesn't work on me. I'm not buying a shitty product just because it has Star Wars stamped on it. Let Lucas come to me. If he doesn't care, then he will get no money from fans such as myself.


How can alienating fans make more money? What does it profit a man to gain the world if he loses his soul? So the product is making money. That doesn't mean that it is a quality product.

Wow that was a terrible experience.
3 guests: Bill Hunt, who knows what he's talking about. theForce.net guy is an idiot who is asking for the worst transfer GL can make (guess he just wants people to laugh at him. Someone should tell him they already are). And the other guy, whoever he is, just wants chicken or something.

So what do they do? Cut off Bill Hunt whenever he starts talking. Sigh. Don't watch this if you are already angry.

Even if it was only on G4 I though maybe our message would get out there, but Star Wars fans now look (more) like idiots.

This release really seem to made the banta poo-doo hit the fan in terms of the OOT. I just keep worrying that it will ahve the adverse effect of pissing Lucas off and making the situation even worse. Of course, since the OOT is selling well, that should also be a clear message.

Cable i think he was being sarcastic. He was saying that LFL would not want to 100% please the fans because then the fans would stop buying product. If we got an HD remastered OOT today then there would be no need for us to invest in Lucasfilm releases ever again. He was criticising Lucasfilm, not bashing fans. And what he said happens to be true. A satisfied fan is not what a cash-cow-based business like LFL would want.

BTW, I can't say that I'm too familiar with Chris Gore, but he's been the host of a movie review show on FX (I think) as well as IFC's "Ultimate Film Fanatic" show.

The other guy, I don't know about though I didn't really read his comments like you did. I saw it more as him saying that Lucas will just continue to milk the fans for all they're worth, as others on this forum have been saying. As in, there's no money in putting out a good transfer now if Lucas can get fans to buy this one and buy them later too.

He was playing devil's advocate there and he was not taking any clear stance for or against it either. He was saying that as long as ppl dish out the money, they're never going to give us what we want. It's an endless circle then. We're caught between a rock and a hard place. He should be sympathetic with consumers and he didn't say that it was right or wrong. That's what I have a problem with. He's making THE FANS out to be the bad guys when it's LUCAS who's the bad guy here. We're not asking for much....just a remastered OOT in anamorphic. Is that really so much to ask?
