I'd be interested to see pictures of her as a young woman. The article mentions she used to like to dance, but we tend to forget that our elders were once young and mobile like us.

Wow. It's amazing to think that she was widowed in 1949! I mean, she was already 60 then. That's already what we'd consider to be getting old, and then she had another 50 years after that! Amazing!

C3PX said: Gaffer is like that hot girl in high school that you think you have a chance with even though she is way out of your league because she is sweet and not a stuck up bitch who pretends you don’t exist… then one day you spot her making out with some skinny twerp, only on second glance you realize it is the goth girl who always sits in the back of class; at that moment it dawns on you why she is never seen hanging off the arm of any of the jocks… and you realize, damn, she really is unobtainable after all. Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Maybe she jumped in a swimming pool filled with alien cocoons. *wink wink movie reference*
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

There's been a lot of fake death reports on the internet lately, but I belive Steve Irwin's is real.

(Recently there was a myspace buliten with Kel Mitchell from Kenan and Kel dying and Wikipedia recently had a death-date listed for James Earl Jones.)

IMDB reported a string of deaths today, 9/19/2006 -

Former child star Pablo Santos has been killed in a plane crash in central Mexico. The teenager was on his way to Acapulco with friends when their private aircraft crashed during an emergency landing in Toluca, near Mexico City on Friday. Another passenger was also killed while everyone else on board was hospitalized. Survivor Diego Marcos has told local newspaper El Norte that he fears the plane crashed because it was overloaded. He explains the Piper Malibu craft was only supposed to carry six people, but he and his friends persuaded the pilot to take on an extra passenger. Santos, 19, appeared on TV shows Law & Order and American Family and he played the son of a Mexican family in Greetings From Tucson.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay's bodybuilder father Mickey Hargitay has died after a lengthy illness. He was 80. The Hungarian strongman, who was married to Jayne Mansfield, died last Thursday. Hargitay was in hospital being treated for a mystery illness when his daughter gave birth to her first child in June. The actress had to dash from a scheduled appearance on America's The Tonight Show earlier this summer to be by her father's bedside, and she broke down in tears as she paid tribute to him when she won her first Emmy Award in August. She told reporters the best thing about winning an Emmy was "that my dad was gonna be really happy." Born Miklos Hargitay in 1926, the bodybuilder fled his native Hungary in 1947 to escape the compulsory Soviet military draft. Hargitay won the Mr. Universe bodybuilding title in 1955 and made his mark as a movie star in The Loves Of Hercules after appearing in Mae West's New York revue. Before gaining fame, he worked as a carpenter and plumber, and famously remodeled the Pink Palace - the Hollywood home he shared with Mariska's mother Mansfield.

Patricia Kennedy Lawford, the former wife of Rat Pack playboy Peter Lawford, died at her home in New York on Sunday. She was 82. The sister of assassinated Us President John F. Kennedy died from complications from pneumonia. Kennedy Lawford was a Hollywood it girl in the 1940s and 1950s and wed British actor Lawford in 1954. In a statement, her brother, Massachusetts Democratic Senator Edward Kennedy, writes, "My sister Pat is irreplaceable. Everyone who knew Pat adored her. She was admired for her great style, for her love and support of the arts, her wit and generosity."

May they all rest in peace.
