The language, in the grand spectrum of languages, isn't actually all that difficult to learn. The fact that you aren't using or pronouncing English letters in foreign ways makes things unbelieveably easier. And it rarely deviates from the rules. A very logical language, all things considered.
'Desu' is for all intensive purposes, a verb meaning 'it is'. 'Deshita' is the past tense of the same verb, meaning 'it was'. 'Deshoo' is the future tense of the verb, meaning 'it will probably be'. And so on and so forth.
