For those who haven't heard yet:

"Premiere comics and collectibles company Dynamic Forces is adding to the Home Shopping Network's 'Pop Culture' TV Shows by busily preparing three full hours of cool, limited edition and exclusive Star Wars merchandise this Labor Day

This event on September 4th starts with an early morning hour-long showcase that will air at 2 AM EST (for those night owls who would like a sneak peek at the items) and picks up again at 8 PM for the prime-time airing of two full hours of Star Wars collectibles!

For this special day of Star Wars comics and collectibles DF has worked directly with Lucasfilm Ltd. to bring in highly sought after goods from the wide spectrum of Star Wars licensees, including limited edition items created for DF for the show. Among the products available are highly anticipated home-entertainment releases: the new two-disc DVD sets of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. In addition, fans will find a huge range of Star Wars products and collectibles, ranging from Yoda and Vader gumball machines, limited edition comics from Dark Horse, and high-end lightsabers and other collectibles from Master Replicas.

As a coup for fans new and old, for the first time ever limited edition collectibles from starwarsshop.com are going to be presented to HSN's audience! Plus DF is showcasing (with some items premiering) limited edition Star Wars merchandise, including signed and remarked high-end lithographs.

The lithographs scheduled feature a "lost" classic Star Wars poster signed and remarked by Greg Hildebrandt, and a Star Wars Limited Edition "Choice Of" lithograph by famed Star Wars artists Dave Dorman and Ken Kelly. These lithographs are brought to you exclusively by DF on HSN.

Be sure to tune in on September 4th beginning at 2 AM for a full hour of Star Wars collectibles and again at 8 PM EST for the two-hour spectacular, only on HSN!

They'll probably be showing clips from the OOT DVDs, so this may be the first chance for us to get a look at them.

Thanks for the news, Mielr. I imagine that the DVD sets will be pre-order for shipping on the 12th, but it's worth a look for the clips.

Now we'll see for sure how many Home Shopping Network viewers want that musty old unaltered trilogy ...
I am fluent in over six million forms of procrastination.

This could be a mistake for LFL. HSN viewers are clearly the OUT's core demographic.

Mielr, thanks for the news flash. I definitely want to see some clips to check out the quality.

Oh, George... He's the greatest, bestest, mostest creative movie creator of all time, and he's got the brains to prove it.

The DVDs (100 copies per title) sold out before the first 15 minutes of the show were up, and they were hocking them for $29.98 each! Can you believe that there was no mention of the specs for the presentations or the fact the original versions were relegated to "Bonus Disk" material? And there were no "bonus material" stickers on the display boxes either! (boy, I'm yelling a lot...)

Oh, well. The hostess didn't even know the difference between the originals and the SEs; that's gotta be the public's perception of the whole thing. It was good to see her SW fan co-host stand up for the people who prefer the originals, though.

I basically never watch tv anymore. This might have been amusing to see tho.
100 copies of each title are not a lot tho, if you think about how many people would be potentially tuning in. That is what amazes me about people who buy shit on tv. They pay way more than they have to. Even at a normal retailer I imagine one can get these discs for $20. If you look around, less than 20. One thing, are they sending these purchased on the show out before the release date? That may be the thing.
HSN hosts are usually fun to watch when they are trying to sell Geek stuff they know nothing about. I bet that lady was funny.

Anyone record the show from this morning? If not.. is someone planning on recording the one tonight? I'd do it, but I don't have a signal worth watching here. I think my HSN broadcast is coming from another city.

My favorite quote from a past HSN special:

(talking about the SW:SE DVDs)
"We've got "A New Hope"... The Next One... and Return of the Jedi"

classic

Well it would seem that the OTVD excitement was only in the morning edition (would like to see it, if anyone cap'd it), they're just hocking lightsabers and signed crap from the same tertiary level cast members who must never stop writing their signature...

They said that buyers would receive them on the normal release date; basically, they just pre-ordered them like people have done at retail outlets.

One misleading thing that the hostess was saying was that HSN was the only place you could do this; probably true that HSN is the only place that has them in stock already while they take pre-order sales, but you can obviously pre-order them elsewhere that won't have them in stock until distribution sends them out.
