I too never read the original graphic novel of V For Vendetta. Just went out and saw the film because it looked somewhat interesting, which it was, but I won't be buying the DVD any time soon. Thought Natalie Portman was kind of stiff in her performance.
And I still need to read the Hellboy books. I thought they were going to make an animated Hellboy series but nothing's happened with it yet.
Portman's English accent was pretty good though. Normally I hate watching Americans do British (there's one phone commercial currently airing that is just HORRIBLE!! - the girl sounds more like a retarded South African than someone from London) but Portman done pretty good. One thing that did slightly rub me the wrong way was the over-use of the words 'bloody' and 'bollocks'. It seemed like they were inserted whenever possible to play on the 'this is set in London' angle.

I hope they do, and if the adaptation's as good as V was, then I'll be most happy with it.
Seriously guys, go and read the graphic novel of V for Vendetta, it truly is worth it. And when you're done with that, read Moore's run on Swamp Thing volumes 1-6. THE best run in comics EVER. Period.
I know I've been throwing a lot of superlatives around lately, but Moore is worthy of every superlative he gets.
Oh, and LOL about the 'retarded South African' thing. I know exactly what you're talking about!
Spiderman is divided, in the middle. That's why he's shown with both Tony and Steve in the promotional art. Hence in saying I'm with Spiderman, I was being a smart aleck.

And I can't believe the position that Captain America has actually taken! It strikes me as being the complete opposite to what he would take - he was practically made by the government...
So has anyone here seen the new animated DVD feature of Ultimate Avengers 2? I just rented it and watched it; entertaining diversion though no Oscar winner.
Originally posted by: sean wookie Have you even read the comics he is totally on Starks side at the moment. But I bet he will change by November. Delays.
If he was on Stark's side why did he wear his original costume when he unveilded his identity to the world?

It was much better than the first one. But they still didn't include the "You think this A on my head stands for France?!" line.

You'd think they would have had that in the first film.
I wonder why the film puts the Black Widow with Captain America instead of Iron Man. I seem to recall that was the original storyline, whilst Captain America found himself involved with Wasp after her relationship with Giant-Man fell apart.
