I am working on this Project about Escape from New York and Escape from L.A.

I already have some rare material for this project but maybe you have some other stuff in your collection.

Here what I already have:

Escape from New York

Documentaries
Exclusive interview with John Carpenter
From the Image Laserdisc released in 1993. Carpenter talks about the deleted opening sequence and we can see a vintage interview of Kurt Russell.

Snake Plissken: Man of honour
(15.30 minutes) 1.33:1 4/3 PAL
Interviews with John Carpenter and Debra Hill (2004) from the dutch dvd.

Trailers
Teaser 1 (1.34 minutes) 1.85:1 16/9
Teaser 2 (57 seconds) 1.85:1 16/9
French Canadian Trailer (3.00 minutes) 2.35:1 4/3

NTSC
Trailer (2.15 minutes) 1.85:1 16/9

Escape from Los Angeles
Teaser Trailer (1.35 minutes) 1.85:1 4/3

What I am looking for:

Movie Magic # 411: Ultimate Action
Visual Effects Supervisor Michael Lessa and his team at Buena Vista Visual Effects use a combination of miniatures and computer generated imagery to create an apocalyptic earthquake in John Carpenter’s Escape from L.A.

Inside John Carpenter’s Escape
Featurette made at the time of the theatrical release of Escape from New York
Featuring interviews with John Carpenter, Kurt Russell and behind the scenes footage. (9 minutes)

Escape from L.A. : The EPK + trailers and Tv spots

How about adding the deleted bank robbery sequence and use the music included on the anniversary CD?

Indeed, the bank robbery with Alan Howarth's track restored would be an excellent addition to this.

The track is also available on the expanded "Big Trouble..." score CD, by the way, but the version on the later "Escape..." disc is clearer (and perhaps even longer)...

Perhaps the scripts for both films (the LA script is quite different from the final film) and scans of the old Plissken Comics might go in as well (for the former, see... well, pretty much anywhere, for the latter - e.g. the DC hub Comics&Cartoons... )

Scans/photos of the Escape from NY board game would be cool too.

Ash595, I can't offer any material, however I am intrigued by this project and would love to see it finished.

Actually, I can offer the font used for the titles of the films (I believe it's called 'Chisel' ... or 'Chisel ~something~'). I know you might intend for the cover to be using the font you're using - it does look cool, but perhaps you'd like this font anyway for menus or whatever.

Klorkwerk, I am interesting in the fonts.

the deleted robbery sequence with the Alan Howarth score is a good idea.

does other trailers were made for EFLA, beside the one on the official dvd ?

Well, I had to look through 4 DVDs of fonts... but I found it. Amazing how annoying it is when you misplace something as small as a TTF font (only 30-35ish kb). Anyway...

Here's a temporary link - let me know when you've got it so I can take it down. Download EFNY Font.

This is an awesome idea for a project. I'm a huge Carpenter fan and was one of the few that actually liked Escape From L.A.

Thanks Klokwerk. I will use the font for the menus and the back cover.

Anybody know why they didn't use the bank robbery music on the cd when they included that scene on the dvd?

The quality of the clip looks like it is from the dailies before the music was added. I don't think they ever found the original negative.

Some other bits you may use: The Documentary found on the New Line VHS edition (much better than the new one on the DVD) and a clip from the Tonight Show w/ Leno, where he goes to the future and meets Snake. Aired sometime before LA was released.

I don't know whether this is true of the MGM R1 DVD, but the Momentum R2 issued here in the UK has a brand-new score by Carpenter on the bank robbery scene done especially for the DVD. I've never heard of this Alan Howarth cue though?

The R1 and R2 are the same except for the DTS track on the R2 DVD
