indeed it is, I have had the pleasure of a brief chat with him on the HTF Blade Runner DVD thread some years ago. The Blade Runner DVD couldn't be in better hands.
New member here (hi!) - just wanted to say thanks for the HD Blade Runner... mine just finished downloading last night.
Like the look of Bunnydojo's cover... but that file included in the set is corrupted and the link posted earlier doesn't seem to work, can anyone help and mail it to me perhaps?
Recently I found a torrent with Blade Runner DVD. Yeah, I was happy. Now I found that there is a better version... HD. I'm in shock. I'm not lazy... but I'm impatient so please answer my question (if not, I will read all pages of this thread...). Firs of all: Where Can I get it ? Please, give me a link! Second: Is it Director's Cut or Theatrical version? (or maybe both) Last one: ... (no more question)
I saw the new dvd at Best Buy for about $15 US. It is the "director's cut" and the cover is pretty much the same but it features the restored picture. But I'd wait for the ultimate box set although I would love to see screenshot comparisons between the two dvd editions.
Criterion Projects done: She's Gotta Have It, The Princess Bride, The Fisher King
In Progress Criterions: The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (99% done), Taxi Driver (90% done), Citizen Kane (50% done), Othello (99.99% done)
Possibly coming next: Ghostbusters, The Magnificent Ambersons (the theatrical cut, a reconstruction according to Prof. Carringer's script analysis, and the colorized version)

Easy to say. Try to find any legal version, here in poland. Even the older one isn't available.
You can't have it shipped from Amazon or some other DVD retailer? I'd personally wait for the '07 release at this point, but the remastered version should be available right now.
I'm guessing a DVD only documentary of it could be made... something like getting the extra content of the DF release... Asked thousand times isn't it!
Thanks for the invite Brian M, and yes I will pass on the love, but I was away for a few weeks and missed the window to activate the account, I have asked admin to reopen it for me, once they have i'll invite u winman42.
Not to derail this thread, but I lead someone to HDBits in the Indiana Jones ToD thread, would appreciate it if I could get an invite (was a member once but have since had my account trimmed ).
This should have far many peers than the one posted over at HDBits... but different hashset since it has different joined .ts files to match the 3.8 gb size..

For various reasons, too numerous to list here, the film in its original shape was never released on DVD. The only DVD version officially available is the 1992 Director's Cut.
We believe the Theatrical Version remains an important document, among the finest films ever made. It is certainly one of the most influential pictures of the genre.
Therefore, we are proud to present you with an ANAMORPHIC transfer of the best source currently in print, enhanced by a second disc of supplemental material, which includes a complete and unabridged soundtrack and a RETROSPECTIVE DOCUMENTARY, plus many hours of DVD-ROM content!!!

BLADE RUNNER - DENVER WORKPRINT - CAM *(BAD QUALITY)* * Webster's 2012 definition of a replicant used in lieu of opening crawl * voiceovers deleted except at Batty's death * Bryant says two replicants were fried running through an electric field * conversation between snake-maker and Deckard is different and matches their lips * includes a shot of nearly nude dancers in hockey masks outside Taffey's bar * Batty says, "I want more life, father." * Pris lifts Deckard up by his nostrils when she beats him up * different voiceover used after Batty's death * ends with the elevator doors closing * shorter than other versions
This version was shown at the Fairfax Theater in 1990 where Iam sure this was recorded . The guy turns the camera sideways at one point . this is pretty unwatchable and ONLY FOR FANS
... huge different intro for the movie!
