My uncle recently bought my grandmother a Magnavox VCR/DVD+RW combo (Model MWR20V6). Now, already I'm thinking of all the stuff I have on VHS that hasn't officially come out on DVD, that I want to preserve. But the manual says that it can only record between formats as long as the original VHS or DVD I'm trying to copy does not have copy protection. Some of the stuff I want to preserve DOES have copy protection, so what can I do about it?

And as an aside, does anyone know if this player has a code to disable region lock?
