Darth-Adroit you're idea is sound, however... you've forgotten that there are proposed 3D versions of the saga in developement. That's the reason there will be no HD or Blu-ray releases. Maybe Lucasfilm is secretly developing their own technology via holographic projection. I'm sure the patents will make them more money.

For those that do fan edits and continue to tweak them as new source material comes out... are you all to some degree like Lucas himself? HAHAHA! It's a symbiotic relationship.
