proving once AGAIN that a year can't go by where Luca$ needs to rape the fans wallets
Have they put out a DVD product per year since 01?
Even though it says the above was written in March 10, 2006 ('07 info on May 10), I think it is highly, HIGHLY suspect that they kept the March update around and linked it with the more recent '07 one. Sure it can be argued that the sentence above is talking about the 09/12 release, but LFL had more than enough time to update since that announcement. Since they have not, I say they didn't because there are even more releases and "rarities" on the way.

Wishful thinking? I don't know. Judging by the bonus disc-less release, it takes a bit more than new changes to get the fans excited, and I think that most people have had it and just want to own a good release. I think this now comes down to how far LFL are willing to go. Will the 30th anniversary boxed set sell well? Sure, it has the Star Wars name attached to it. But will it sell really, really well? Only if it has something to entice the fansbase in it. The question is whether or not Lucas is willing to put aside his ego and if LFL have the balls to put their money where their mouths are. Pardon my bluntness.
