Is there any chance you would ever attempt to remove the contact flashes? The pt ones are ok, but still kinda annoying, but its one of the blemishes I think the ot could have done without.
I won't be removing the contact flashes as i think that it would look odd without them as they have always been part of the lightsaber duels. But i'm not overkeen on the green flashes in Ep IV and prefer the ones in the PT so I may redo them to better fit in with the PT ones.

If you do fix it, the next space shot (again with no explicit passage of time) of the Falcon is in normal space, so the shot out of the window would have to show the Falcon coming out of hyperspace...

91. As the rebel pilots start boarding their fighters, we see Red Leaders X-wing from earlier, only now it’s been flopped in post production to make us think it is another fighter. I’ve flopped it back to keep internal consistency.
Instead, what if you changed this X-wing to Red 2 or something?

I think the idea that there should be hyperspace out of the window is taking things a little too literally.
Well, we fanboys are nothing if not literal... DE, you make valid points about the passage of time, but I was just wondering what it might look like. Could be cool.

BTW. that's a change from my release, the lancer release, not adywan's

How close do you think this is to being released?
Its going to be a few months before its ready at least i'm afraid. Once i've finished all the colour correction and effects shots i've then got to start the new audio mix, so loads of work still to do.

Here's something: Following Vader's and Tarkin's conversation about the homing beacon in which Vader states, "They've just made the jump into hyperspace," we then cut to Han and the Princess' conversation in the Falcon's cockpit. Forward shots in this sequence reveal normal space and not the mottled blue of hyperspace. How difficult would it be to replace the starfield plate with a hyperspace background plate? Would this even work?
It would be quite a bit of work and i would need a clean effect plate of hyperspace. Probably too much work. i may be able to do a quick effects shot of the falcon exiting hyperspace that would possibly work and be a lot easier to do
Does anyone know what font is used for the end credits? I'm planning on completely redoing the end credits and adding Darth Editous' name, and anyone elses name that has contributed to this project, in with the credits.
keep the suggestions for fixes coming and thanks to all for your input.

One thing I did mention to Darth Editous was the scenes aboard the Falcon when Luke is training ( I know you probably want to punch me already ) when the view shows C3P0 R2 and Chewie at the table and Ben off to the left, Lukes actual blade continually looks to get off kilter with the hilt, the blade jumps around from the edges of the hilt back to the center and in some shots it actually looks to bend at an angle. I dont know if its something you can look at or not.
Keep up the great work

I'm fixing that scene right now. No more wobbly saber blade

Holy jeez your the man, I cant even explain how excited I am for this now. I know it seems so trivial but it just took me right out of the movie when I watched those scenes. When this comes out it will be a day long remebered .

I did a lot of trial-and-error in an attempt to figure this out, and the closest I could get was also "Franklin Gothic Medium Cond Regular". However, the capital letters seem slightly thicker in Lucasfilm's credits. But I've settled for this as being close enough- you can't tell the difference unless you have both fonts on the same card.
I would blur the text slightly, however, to match the other credits.

I've just finished the FX on my slightly extended destruction of Alderaan scene. You can download it using the link below. The audio track is again only a very rough temporary one and the shot at the end of Lukes saber is still only in its first phase for tracking purposes only and is no where near what the finished shot will look like.
hope you like it

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

He doesn't seem to have aged much over 20 years.
The shot does look good though.

You may want to tweak the colors on Jimmy Smits to gray his hair or something.

I have greyed his hair at the sides. originally i tried a complete greying but it looked false so i decided to go with a subtle ageing

I must compliment you on the lightsaber fix, I know you said it's the first phase but damn it's looking great as it is, I love the way you get everything so vibrant and actually looks like they were always there in the film.
Can I ask you what software you are using for modifying the lightsabers and the majority of your effects?
Great work I'm really excited about this project!

good combination of elements. I'm assuming you have some sort of establishing shot of the planet as the DS arrives overhead?

I've wanted to see something like this for years now!
My only concern is that it goes by too quickly. I had to watch it serveral times to see everything in it.
Tellen asked if there was some sort of establishing shot of the planet...I think that might make it work.
But again, wow! Jiminy cricket was right...my dreams are coming true!
I can't wait to see the whole dang movie!
I was watching ROTJ last night and thinking about all the things I'd change, cut, and add...it looks like some of it may be possible now!
OH! Did you take out that really loud sub sound as the DS is preparing to fire? It's quite distracting...plus that sound isn't used in ROTJ.
