That's all you'll be able to do with an IRC client like Trillian. If you want to do anything beyond getting into rooms, you'll either need to learn some advanced IRC commands or use a client like mIRC. Besides all that, those two programs do completely different things. Yes, Trillian can be used to get on IRC, but not on usenet. GrabIt is a good, if a bit buggy, usenet reader. Usenet and IRC are two completely separate things. Trillian is good for IRC (though I recommend mIRC) while GrabIt is good for Usenet.
