Crash Special Edition DVD tech difficulty

Their must be sothing weird with the Crash Special Edition DVD's. I stuck the 1st disc(the one with the movie on it) in the DVD player that is connected to my main TV and sound system. The DVD player said it could not play the disc. I tried the disc in another DVD player and it worked. I then tried a another DVD in the main DVD player and it worked as well. I then then tried the 2nd disc(the one with the bonus features) in the main DVD player and it worked. I returned the DVD and got another one. Same thing happen!!!!

Has anyone else had this sort of difficulty? Is it the DVD or the DVD player that is malfunctioning?

I don't get it. If its the DVD, then no DVD player should be able to play it. Ever other DVD player I stuck the 1st disc into was able to play it. Also if it was the DVD. replacing the DVD should do the trick. But, it didn't. If it is the DVD player, then no dvd should be able to work in it. Yet all other discs (including the 2nd disc of Crash Special Edition) worked.

Can anyone shed some light on this and how it is possible? Can anyone give an answer on how this ploblem can be solved so I can play Crash on the best TV and Sound System in my house? Thanks in advance for any help anyone on here can give.

I GET A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THAT AT WORK. IT'S NOT JUST THE CRASH DVD. SONY DISCS HAVE NOW BECOME QUITE INFAMOUS FOR THIS PROBLEM. EXCHANGING THE MOVIE FOR ANOTHER COPY IS NOT GOING TO SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS WITH YOUR PLAYER. THE DISCS ARE BEING BURNED AT A SPEED THAT IS TOO HIGH FOR SOME PLAYERS. THIS REALLY SUCKS, BUT THE ONLY RECOURSE YOU HAVE IS TO UPGRADE TO A NEW/FASTER DVD PLAYER.

that explaination does somewhat make sense. The main DVD player is the oldest one in the house. Would all new DVD players be able to handle these sorts of Discs?

That happened on my Incredibles DVD. 2nd disc working while the first doesn't. I don't really care though, since Incredibles isn't a very good film.

But upgrading your DVD player will probably work. DVD players are a lot cheaper now.

Maybe that explains why my main DVD player refuses to play the DVD of Raiders of the Lost Ark. That one has frustrated me for a while.

THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS ABOUT FINAL DESTINATION THREE NOT WORKING ON MANY PLAYERS ALSO. NCRYPTIONS ON THE DISCS ALSO CAUSE SOME OF THESE PROBLEMS. SONY IS NOTORIOUS FOR THEIR ENCRYPTIONS. THE OLDEST OF PLAYERS CAN SOMETIMES READ THESE DISC AS THEY WEREN'T DESIGNED TO READ THESE NEW ENCRYPTIONS.

now this is weird, when I put the disc in the DVD play says it can't play this type of disc. But, if I turn the DVD player off with the disc in it, and then turn the player back on, it reads the disc and begins to play it.
