And I'm sure many people like The Outsiders: The Complete Novel. I happen to think the theatrical cut is better overall. I have a good friend who likes the LOTR extended versions... as I said for me the movies are too long. The Terminator runs about 1hr 47 minutes - in contrast to T2 at 137 minutes - half an hour more - and I think T1 has much better pacing then T2. The director's cut of T2 should take out 15 minutes, not add 15 more minutes to it! I don't mind some longer movies, like dramas/thrillers/war/mob movies such as God Fellas... which is 145 mins or so... or The Godfather Films which push the 3hr barrier... or saving private ryan... but for an action movie that would be way too long. LOTR are fantasy/action movies.... anything longer then 2hrs screen time is pushing it. The Butterfly Effect's Director's Cut is better then the theatrical version, for instance - but I stand by what I said before - why whine about all the sequels/remakes and cuts of movies you hate when you can talk about the movie that you enjoy instead? That's just stupid. I liked the Lord of the Rings extended.
