Well, the theatrical bootleg would be of value in terms of sourcing original dialogue (ie: Padme's "Uh-huh" or whatever it was originally) if there were no better source. Was AOTC ever released in its' theatrical form on VHS like TPM, or on a Japanese laserdisc?

It was originally a straight "yes". The "Uh-huh" works a lot better considering what was suppose to have just happened. I still can't believe "Yes" ever made it past the shoot. It was completely jarring the first time I saw it and made it seem like Padme just tripped rather than falling from a flying vehicle into hot desert sand.
It might be possible to piece together an IMAX edit from everyones memories (I know that's not the preferred way). If I'm not mistaken, the fireplace scene was either drastically reduced or completely removed. I want to say that it was completely removed since, IMHO, it was the worst scene of the movie. I don't know about the rest of you, but I wouldn't expect a woman to dress like that and then tell me we couldn't be together
