OK, I've owned a HDTV for a few years now and have loved mine (it's a Mitsu 55711 reso 1920x1080i). Recently though, I was shopping one for my brother and have somewhat gotten confused by the various resolutions that are available for HDTV sets. I've thought all along sets advertising at 720p were worse then sets at 1080i. But then I read somewhere that a 1080i picture can look just as good on a 720p set. I also see sets that accept the 1080p signal, but aren't native 1920x1080p. That's basically upconverting right? So what's your guys takes on the various resolutions for HDTV sets? What's generally the better resolutions?
