Um... ADM's set isn't a "De-SE" project, exactly...

True, that might not have been the best term (especially since it contains the jabba scene in anh), but it still sounds much better than the 2004 se dvds that I have (green lightsaber in anh, dialogue changes in esb, etc).

It did start out as a De-SE project. Either I got lazy or I just decided to take out only the greatest offenses while keeping those I could live with.

Perhaps both apply.

Hey all!!!!!

Wondering if anyone would be willing send me copies of the DL versions of ADM's Eps. I, II, and III. I will be willing to PIF it along, as a matter of fact, I have a couple of people in line already, as soon as I get them. Optionally, I would like to have the DL versions of ADM's Eps. IV, V, and VI, if anyone can spare them, just to round out the series. Again, I'll be more than willing to PIF them. I already have the Clone Wars cartoon. Thanks in advance.

Oh, a little off topic, but if you haven't already, get ADM's Pearl Harbor edit.......top notch.

I am so new to these forums, I had to make an account to ask this question after a good month of browsing.

I torrented ADM's ROTS. Now, I'm trying to burn it to DVD, which means I had to A: lower the bitrate, as it was too large, and B: repeatedly hit my head against the wall because I can't get it to work. These are the files that came in the video folder that Nero Vision allows me to see:

Video_TS.vob
VTS_01_0.vob
files VTS_01_01-5.vob

When I copy them and allow Nero to combine similiar files, I end up with Video_TS.vob, VTS_01_0.vob, and VTS_01_01-5.vob combined together. So I have three chapters, one of which (Video_TS) is just a box of black and white bars. What is this file, and is it supposed to go on the disc?

I do find Nero 6's recompression algorithm to look far superior, so don't be so quick to dismiss it. It's given me no problems after 18 months.

Fuck Nero. Download DVD Shrink for free.

That would be fine, but DVD Shrink doesn't create an accurate duplicate of the original files.

Neither does Nero Recode, and that's the whole point -- we're talking about reencoding MPEG2 video to fit a single-layer disc.

Oh, I misunderstood - yeah, DVD Shrink would work fine for shrinking those files down.

You better use CCE(6passes) compression through DVDrebuilder, this is far better than Nero or DVDshrink.

Hey folks,

OK, I'm slavering to get my filthy hands on a copy of ADM's edits... most specifically Episodes II.V & III.

Can anyone out there either link me to a torrent file or two, or maybe put me in touch with a DVD pyramid? I'd gladly pay it forward more than once.

Many thanks!

Heck even Quality based 1-pass VBR with prediction on DVD Rebuilder rocks.

DVD Rebuilder confused me immediately, so I went with DVD Shrink to make the DVDs. But does anyone know why Sony DVD-R are considered "illegal" discs by the program? I bought a hundred of them on sale, and the effing program won't let me use them to burn.

Not sure why thats happening. Just use DVDShrink to create an .ISO image file of the dvd then burn the image with either Nero or DVDDecrypter. If the discs aren't being recognised by your drive then you might need to get a firmware update to be able to use them. What DVD-RW drive are you using?

The difference between DVD-Shrink and DVD Rebuilder is the DVD-Shrink uses compression (increasing the existing mpeg compression) in order to make a disc fit, while DVD-Rb reencodes. Compression is more prone to artifacts than fully re-encoding and DVD-rb will always give better quality. Whether you see it or not is on you. I find DVD-Shrink acceptable up to about 80% after that the artifacts are just too obvious.
Btw, DVD-rebuilder does have a simple mode that can be turned on.

I never realized you could compress an MPEG file without reencoding it. Could you refer me to any articles/forum threads about this? (I tried Googling "mpeg compression" and "mpeg recompression" but didn't find anything relevant.)

But it burns just fine with my Fujifilm DVD-Rs, which is why I'm confused. The drive's an NEC DVD-RW ND-2510A.

And how does DVD Rebuilder work? Do you need that CCD (or whatever it was) plug-in? Because from when I got it, it says you have to buy the plug-in, and I'm a rather cheap, broke retail employee.

DVD Rebuilder does require DVD encoding software. CCE is of course great but it does work with QuEnc and HC Encoder which are free and available on DVD Rebuilder's site.

From Doom9.org:
Recently, compressed domain transcoders have reached quite some popularity. These transcoders are based on algorithms designed to recompress an MPEG-2 stream in real-time for TV broadcast. These programs can transcode an entire DVD movie in only a few minutes, because they do not have to decode and re-encode the entire video stream, but only part of it. I will not go into a detailed explanation of the mechanisms used as they are quite involved but basically what you get is a size (and hence quality) reduction per time unit that cannot be rivaled by regular MPEG-2 encoders (though the latter category can yield better quality). DVD2One was the first program to be based on these principles, now DVD Shrink is the first free program to offer this functionality.

Hi guys!
New to the forums and am dying to get a hold of any/all of the fan edits! A friend of mine let me borrow his your edits (ADigitalMan) of Ep1 and 2. Wow!!!
I'd love to have each and every edit available to man but am happy just to have any I can get a hold of!
If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great! I was also wondering where to get the covers for these too!
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
