Microsoft have just annouced in the press, their new photo stitching software - Photosynth. Well it's actually a bit more than stitching software.

Photosynth

"With Photosynth you can:

Walk or fly through a scene to see photos from any angle.
Seamlessly zoom in or out of a photograph whether it’s megapixels or gigapixels in size.
See where pictures were taken in relation to one another.
Find similar photos to the one you’re currently viewing.
Explore a custom tour.
Send a collection to a friend."

Fristly it looks fantastic, secondly I was wondering about the possibilities in the Star Wars fan community.

Imagine stitching together all the set photographs of the Hoth base, or Jabba's Sail Barge and being able to 'fly around' looking at it from 'any' angle. Obviously I understand the limitations but I think the possibilities could be fascinating.

I feel several projects coming on!
