And the loyal fans of Terminator were understandably upset. Personally i prefer the 5.1 mix of Terminator
The only reason I don't prefer it is because it sounds nothing like the original soundtrack. It's like listening to the Special Edition Star Wars sound-mix. I know it's difficult to make a 5.1 out of a mono soundtrack without compromising - but honestly it just doesn't seem like I'm watching the movie I love.Originally posted by: Mielr
Manhunter is an extremely cult film...
Yes, but as a fan of Thomas Harris, I like to enjoy Manhunter because it's a decent adaptation of his book (unlike the 2002 remake, which is hollywood garbage). Silence of the Lambs is actually the closest to the book in terms of Harris adaptations - but they still changed the ending (none of the four movies have the original ending that's in the book), and they made obvious character changes in Crawford, Starling and Lecter. But with that aside, the small number of changes that have happened to the film haven't really affected it. It apears that they have now released the real Theatrical cut - so my point is now muted - but it's non-anamorphic in America and anamorphic with DTS in Japan (both released by MGM)... figure that one out!
