A simple one, really: ANIMAL HOUSE - anamorphic picture but with the original audio track from the non-anamorphic version. The re-release doesn't use the proper 60's tunes, instead substituting cheesy generic 80's ones. I can't bring myself to watch the DVD.

i like the idea of a daredevil fan edit

the movie was so dreadful in the theater i haven't even ventured to the director's cut (opinions?)

it was so bad that while seeing it for FREE that i STILL hated life...

anyways, there should be a lot of room to make this watchable, imho

(so... i second the idea, if you will)

I thought the theatrical version of DD was entertaining enough. The Director's Cut is a better film, but I feel perhaps a bit too much was added back into the movie. The DC is pretty long. Anyway, if you hated some of the cornier moments (seesaw fight), they're still there. Just an improved narrative.

I did an edit of DD which basically trimmed the DC for pacing, but I still recognize some of the corniness, etc. I don't have much of a problem with it, but maybe someone can salvage it.

The earlier non-anamorphic release has the original audio track but the anamorphic re-release does not so there'd be no need for the laserdisc.

If you do a search for 'isolated' you should find a thread I started a while ago asking forum members which isolated scores they'd like to see. It was sort of like this thread in a way.

I am currently doing a Ghostbusters isolated score track for a Ghostbusters fan project here on the forum. This is my first one; the inferior separation on the 5.1 mix, the crappy edits, substitutions and tracked music made it a hard one to start with. I would like to do many others for myself in the future - starting with The Omen once I get my hands on the new R1 Special Edition. I'd also like to do the Halloween films as I have all the scores for those films on CD.

I must warn you though: make sure that if you are going to trade for promo/oop scores that the other party is giving you a direct copy of the original pressed CD/CD-R or is burning your disc from a CD image file/FLAC files on the computer. I have been ripped off many times by inexperienced traders who make copies of copies of copies of copies (there is degradation this way).

To contact me outside the forum, for trades and such my email address is my OT.com username @gmail.com

Restoration of the Director' s Cut of Manhunter is my request. The Anchor Bay 2 disc set has a horrible transfer of this on the second disc. Who ever set up the transfer screwed it up and cropped it. It looks likes like a 3rd generation VHS copy, The picture is fuzzy and soft. I would like to see three versions, The Theatrical cut, The Directors Cut and what I call the Cable Version cut on a three disc special edition.

I would really like to see a fan edit of the Postman....

There was plenty of boring and stupid stuff that could be excised to make a more enjoyable film....

Yes, postman had a few memorable moments... still I think the screen gem in this will be hard to find.

Nothing about fanediting is easy.

Army of Darkness:Extended Editions(w/Sci-Fi & DVD Deleted Scenes added in) for the Theatrical & Director's Cut versions. And of course the differences would be the added scenes, different endings, and on the Director's Cut change the "I'm not that good" with "Good,Bad,I'm the one with the gun"

Mr. & Mrs. Smith:Extended Edition combine all the footage from the Deleted scenes on both DVDs and the alternate scenes on the actual movies. Well everything except for the alternate ending.

I have the workprint does that count ?

What is the difference between the theatrical version, and the Kevin Smith version?

I'd love to see that Mr. & Mrs. Smith project. I'm a little miffed that I bought this DVD when it came out originally.

Not much. I'm pretty sure the only thing he didnt want to cut, but had to, was the scene with the hookers.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

Back to the Future Trilogy with all the deleted scenes put in, I don’t mind if the picture quality isn’t great as long as they sync up well. And Back To The Future: The Ride, I know its been mentioned somewhere so does anyone have a copy I could get hold of? Also has anyone thought about a way to do something with the book-ends of Christopher Lloyd from the Back To The Future Animated Series and also Doc in the music video of ‘That’s The Power Of Love’?

It's simple, really. All you would have to is find a copy of BTTF: The Ride. When it gets to the final sequence in the volcano with you ramming Biff, and timejump effect, from that point on, you have altered the future so that the world is overrun by Huey Lewis and his rabid fanbase of supporters. Add in some narration explaining how Huey has seized the U.S. government, and you have a perfect backstory, with Doc trying to investigate Huey's power. Also, you could edit in some scenes from 1984 of workers yelling at Huey, and thus you will have created "Back to the Totalitarian Future!"

No, it doesn't make any sense whatsoever, but it's worth a shot.

I'd like an edit (I might even do this myself) for the korean movie A Bittersweet Life, that tells the story about the girl in flashbacks.
A Bittersweet Life basicly begins as a sad gangster story, und turns after a fourth I think into a revenge movie. When I thought about the ending the next day (under the shower, being still sleepy ), which at last revealled the real motivation of the main character, I thought an interesting way of telling the story would be, to tell the "backstory" in flashbacks, so the viewer does not know what the revenge stuff is all about in the beginning.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the movie, it's great movie as it is. But I think it would be a very interesting way to tell the story. As an alternative, not as a "correction".

I'd like to see a cut of The Ninth Gate starring Johnny Depp. On the DVD are a number of deleted scenes and the original ending which I much prefered to the finale one used.

I'd love to see an extended cut of last year's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy with the deleted scenes and extra guide entires inserted. It would also be cool to recut it so it was a bit more faithful to the book. That said, that may be impossible.

Hmmm...

Two I'd like to see:

1. Manga Video recently released a "Special Edition" of the Hayao Miyazaki film "Castle of Cagliostro," which I hear was good, except for that the intro credits sequence, which was beautifully animated, has been replaced with a still-frame credit sequence (the story is that this was at the request of the Japanese producers). I'd like to see a fan version of this DVD that uses the original, animated credits sequence.

2. The Mobile Suit Gundam movies had their soundtracks altered for the DVD releases--sound effects have been replaced, background music has been removed in certain scenes, etc. I'd like to see a fan edit that replaces the DVD's 2.0 track with the original mono soundtrack that has the original songs and sound effects.

I'd like to see Titanic without the romance in it anywhere.

Wait, that would be a fifteen minute movie.

Awesome! If that's in 16:9 Widescreen, then it would be perfect for such a project!
