I just finished downloading ADigitalMan's Pearl Harbor edit. I'm speechless. This movie is now completely watchable. The edits are fantastic. ADM your tops in my book.
Anyhow, for those that are interested I'm seeding this masterpiece over at Demonoid. I'll try to keep it up for as long as I can.
I have an extra copy of ADM's Harry Potter 1, 2 and 3 and Hannibal. All dual layer discs. If you're interested let me know and I'll mail them your way.
I too was blown away by the ADM Pearl Harbor edit. Finding the potential in a Michael Bay film is quite a task. I'm looking forward to the ADM Transformers Movie edit (wink, nudge).

The HP discs sound interesting. Would you still have them, by any chance? I'd be interested in obtaining them, if they're still available.
I don't want to bring down any hateful replies, but what would be awesome would be if people would get into the habit of torrenting Xvid versions of fanedits as well as the DVDs.
There are many interesting ones by ADM and the (CBB group) that I would love to graze through, but would hate to have to d/l full DVDs of sight unseen.
That said I'd request to see Pearl Harbor in that format (since the originally film really really blew).
ADM: I watched Mask of Zorro the other day and realized if the cheesiness were taken out (a lot of stuff with his horse) (and the cliche's (although there are a lot)) and the original beginning and ending were restored (new soundtrack would be needed over it), the movie might suck much less. Just a thought.
Well, I personally wouldn't download the XVids, but maybe a solution would be to put both the DVD and XVid versions in the same torrent? After all, most clients allow you to select the files you want to download, so people who want the DVD version can deselect the XVid and vice versa.
ADM: I just looked through chunks side-by-side of your HP edit and Rikter's. The funny thing is most of what I remember as being in the ABC edit and not in yours really are in your edit.
I was curious with Rikter's disc being widely available now are you considering a newer version of HP1 & 2, shuffling scenes that you have in a different order to better match the director's cut?
No time soon. I'm pretty happy with where things went. I may re-visit in a hi-def format when the technology is such that I can do in that format what I do in this one. At that time, I may re-do all this from scratch.
Hmm actually I just read an article that said HP1-4 will all be out of print by February (1-3 in January).
With a BluRay in the works, I'm wondering if we're going to see a new standard DVD come out at the same time (to push the next film).
I just can't help thinking with HP1 & 2 ABC edits being official Director's Cuts, there's got to be a real release eventually, maybe it starts with HiDef.
But having them isn't quite enough. Then we need to have the ripping, conversion, editing and re-authoring tools, affordable blank media, affordable burners, and settop players capable of playing the burnable media.
Or, studios smart enough to repackage extended editions with the theatrical ones on such a big and versatile medium.
Can someone explain why BluRay/HDDVD has AVC as part of it's specs? I mean a standard 4.7gb DVD with x264 hi-def video looks fan-frickin-tastic, why do you need to put it on a 25gb disc?
Screw new HD/BR discs, give me standard DVD disc and a DVD player capable of outputting a hi-def signals. Then we already have the tools we need and there's no format war.
Maybe someone will wise up and do that. Just tweak the DVD specifications to include a hi-def video format.
I suppose that was off topic, sorry. It's just that I saw a Harry Potter hdtv clip in 720p today compressed to 4.7gb and it was bloody amazing. It even still had room for subs and 3 languages of 6 channel ac3.

I'll say it again: the HD war is a contrivance!
You would have to see HD-DVD in action to understand its value. Also 720P isn't that high of a resolution when you consider that by the end of the year Blu-ray is releasing discs that can produce 1080P images, and HD-DVD will follow.
I would be most grateful and appreciative if someone could help me get hold of ADMs Halloween edit, I cant download so I was wondering if someone had a copy to PIF to me or whatever, I would be most grateful if someone could help, thanks....
