Zion, THX: Thanks for your clarification on the different sound mixes and preservation efforts. I knew there were a number of mixes (the mono, 70mm, 35mm, etc.-- my father was an assistant mgr at a theatre in 1977 and in fact still has a copy of the 70mm stereo mix he ripped straight to cassettes ) but did not know of that many efforts being made, beyond the mono mix, to clean and restore them.

Going off on a slight tangent here, is the X0 DVD really the appropriate place to consider including as many audio mixes as possible? Seems to me that would leave less data that could be better used for encoding the video. I know that before this project got off the ground Zion had his own personal project that had multiple mixes as a planned feature-- would a project like that be more appropriate for including such "extras" like multiple mixes and the like? Unless the laserdiscs themselves contained multiple audio mixes... again, correct me if I'm wrong as I do not own nor have seen the actual laserdiscs myself.
