I saw the Budd video many years ago on VHS. One of my close friends was in the police academy at the time, and it was circulating through there. I imagine it came through official channels at some point and made it into the hands of an officer who made a copy.

OMFG adam, there is someone i haven't thought about in months. that kid used to love getting me fired up over stupid things. i actually have reason to believe he was recently back on the boards but as another guy yet nobody really said anything. he's pretty immature for a 17 year old boy... but alas he is a boy.

Just to say my piece on the AWK manner: he was the first and so far only person to EVER drive me to telling him to 'fuck off'...

So, yeah, the less said about him in the long run, the better.

Someone needs to give his parents a clue stick and demand that they beat him with it.

Yeah, I agree with Jay and ADM. There's no harm done in talking about AWK, and it's better to get things out in the open than to stifle them. And I agree with Jay that by refusing to talk about him, we've given him power over us, similar to the whole Voldemort thing.

I also like the Holocaust analogy. Especially to the people who don't agree that they can be "compared", I agree. Putting the two situations together like that makes it really obvious that it's silly to take AWK so seriously. He was just a little punk who liked to stir up trouble. And now he's gone. Fortunately, there was no real harm done.

I've seen it on the "Traces of Death" video series - on several angles and in slow motion as well, along with the aftermatch. Those Traces of Death movies - if you dare call those things "movies" - are one heck of a way to keep yourself awake for some days. After that I never again watched snuff films or have seen gory pictures.

The Wikipedia article links to a site with the video. I almost watched it last night, but I decided that I probably shouldn't so close to bedtime. I don't know. Part of me wants to watch it, part of me thinks (probably rightfully so) that it will be extremely disturbing. Sigh, I probably will watch it soon anyway. I just can't keep myself away...

NO REAL HARM DONE ??? I SERIOUSLY HAD TO FILE A POLICE REPORT AGAINST HIM OVER AN EMAIL THAT HE SENT TO MY LITTLE GIRL. I HOPE he BURNS IN HELL. SOME DAY I MAY BE THE ONE WHO SENDS HIM THERE.

Here is a site dedicated to Budd Dwyer, where you can also find the video and details on what happened that day and why he did what he did.

Basically he was a tragic figure who was about to have his entire career and lifetime of work destroyed because of a bribery scandal. I believe the man was innocent, because no guilty person would kill himself after vehemently denying the charges. Yes he could have served his sentence and lived the rest of his life in seclusion and still retained his innocence, but he did it so that his family would collect his pension which he would have lost as soon as he was stripped of his position.
