You're right; of course plenty of people think it is actually a word after Fox marketing department made it up.
Why didn't they just call it the Alien boxed set? Ah, well. It doesn't really matter. It's a kick-ass set that presents both versions of all four movie in crisp anamorphic widescreen (athough I wish Cameron had supervised a new transfer of Aliens, and The Abyss while he's at it) and booming 5.1 surround sound interpolated from the original six-track with a fantastic plethora of extras for a reasonable price. I suppose complaining about a made up word is nitpicking.
