When they first get to Coruscant, Qui-Gon ends the scene by saying something along the lines of, "We must meet with the Jedi Council. I'm afraid the situation is much more serious." I thought that was an awesome way to end the scene. But George decided to add in the rest of what they filmed, where Anakin isn't sure where to go. Qui-Gon waves him off. He gets into a sky car with Jar-Jar. They're taken off to Palpatine's building or wherever it is they're staying. And it's basically an excuse to show "awesome" CG establishing shots of Coruscant because, according to Rick McCallum, we hadn't seen enough of the planet to get a feel for it. Riiiight. The only thing I like about it is seeing Anakin's confusion at getting passed off and not knowing where to go, but it totally dilutes the scene and the transition. And, once again, it ruins the pacing.
