***UPDATED MAIN POST***

Also,

Disk 1 has been mailed out to the first few people who requested copies.

i'll probably post some screens later today, and hopefully the folks that got their copies will be kind enough to post reviews.

Meedermow has been kind enough to handle all UK distribution for this project, so if you're in the UK & want a copy, PM him, not me.

I'm still working on Disk 2...i've been working alot of overtime recently, so progress is slow, but steady.

...and that's all the news that's shit to print

I don't think any LDs were made in 2001.

I just received the disk yesterday and unfortunately it's blank. I checked it in 2 DVD-ROMs, and will check it in my standalone today to be certain - but it looks like you put a blank disc in the post for me. :/

To contact me outside the forum, for trades and such my email address is my OT.com username @gmail.com

Might be a silly question, but to which version can Wish You Were Here + Echoes actually be synched, the NTSC or the PAL version?

Kubrick could have shot his films in 25fps, being european and stuff

OK Folks, here's a long overdue update...

After weeks of experimentation & testing, i've decided to scrap Disc 2. I will not be making a 2001 edit using the North/Goldsmith Score.

Why? you might ask.

Quite simply, I don't like it...at all

The score itself is very good, don't get me wrong. But it would have been better in something other than 2001. It makes the movie feel like a bad '50's sci-fi B movie. i just couldn't get used to it. I totally understand why Kubrick made the decision not to include it.

I tried to like it...I did. I wanted to like it. I wanted this project to be something that I could take pride in. However, I just can't stand behind it anymore.

I know that there are those of you who disagree, and others who will want to see it anyways...If anybody cares to pick up this project, i'll be happy to send you a copy of the North Score, as well as the notes that I have as far as where each piece goes in the movie.

as always, my PMs are full...you can email me directly Devilman1369@gmail.com

I've toyed around with several different Pink Floyd synchronicities with this film, and some of the cool ones I've found are:

1. Starting the album "Wish You Were Here" at the beginning of "Jupiter and Beyond The Infinite". My favorite bit of it is that the cuts of the film when Dave's pod shows up in the mansion room are timed almost perfectly with the verse changes in Welcome To The Machine.

2. Starting "On the Run" right as the stripes of color begin to flash past during the warp scene of "JaBtI". (I got this idea from the video Roger Waters used for this song at his live show).

3. Syncing up Brain Damage/Eclipse so that the song ends as soon as the credits start rolling.

4. Starting "In The Flesh" so that the actual song (minus the little "Outside the Wall" segue bit) starts as soon as the MGM logo fades away (I've never gone any farther than this. Perhaps The Wall would be a good one to try as well?)

For some reason, "Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite" is the best part of the movie to monkey around with.

I've also heard that the studio disc of "Ummagumma", when played in its original order (which I'm not sure of, at the moment) syncs up well with the "Dawn of Man" sequence.

I'm anxious to see if any parts of the movie sync up with The Beatles' "Across the Universe". Seems like it would be appropriate for a sequence like "JaBtI".

Did this project ever get finished? The new DVD/HD-DVD looks real pretty. Could be a much better source for the project.
