What's this I hear in many threads about Hamill and Kurtz ripping on Lucas in the press, is this recent about the dvd's or just about the special edition?

It is about the special edition as a whole, but I think that, with these DVDs, the whole situation has been blown wide open and Lucas is really shooting himself in the foot. Of course, he is so powerful that it doesn't matter, but hopefully, other billionares could pressure him. At this point, I don't know whether to hope or not. The Digital Bits have posted, with help from Robert A. Harris, a series or reasons why LFLs repreated statements that this is the best they can do are, pardon my language, in a word, bullshit. Hammill simply said that the SEs lacked the charm of the originals, but Kurtz really ripped Lucas a new one. Not that I blame him, as he was heavily involved with films that were changed. Both interviews are linked to on this site. I want to think that this release is a sign of things to come and that Lucas is finally softening, what with the simple fact that it is being released and that Lucas really seemed to be aiming to please with the PG-13 ROTS. But with him, I don't know what to think anymore. He doesn't care what anyone thinks, and I don't know if anyone can change his mind. But I hope that I am wrong.
