Video Pre-Sets?

Author
Time
Iv edited a fair few things using Adobe Premier and Iv never messed with the Pre-Sets! Which probably explains why iv always ran into problems with regards to the ratio's etc.

I was wondering what Video Pre-Sets would I need for a motion picture?

SQUARE PIXELS (1.0)
D1/DV NTSC (0.9)
D1/DV NTSC WIDESCREEN 16:9 (1.2)
D1/DV PAL (1.067)
D1/DV PAL WIDESCREEN 16:9 (1.422)
Anamorphic 2.1 (2.0)
D4/D16 STANDARD (0.948)
D4/D16 WIDESCREEN 16:9 (1.896)

With regards to Square Pixels (1.0) my knowledge is very sketchy...could someone elaborate on what this is? D1/DV NTSC AND D1/DV NTSC WIDESCREEN (as well as its PAL equivalents) are the format if I were editing via my consume camcorder (I believe).
D4/D16 I havent a clue about...so would the Anamorphic 2.1 be the one to use?

When Iv ripped footage before and edited trailers Iv paid no attention to this particular part. One particular trailer i was doing always came out stretched, even though the footage was 16:9 but making it Square pixels (1.0) eliminated this problem.

I dont want to spend ages editing AOTC (for arguments sake) and then not being able to export it because iv messed up the first stage.

Also, what would you guys use for de-interlacing the fields? Bottom or top field first? or none at all? Finally, in Premier it says

'Display Format' and within that is the following:

30fps Drop Frame Timecode
30fps Non Drop Frame Timecode
Frames

What does this mean?

Im really sorry for all the questions but i hope some kind soul out there is willing to spend a moment of their time to answer my questions.
