I was thinking 'What would someone use as a cover back then? Probably just the poster photocopied and stuck on some paper with star wars writen on it, maybe a hand drawn pic?

When I used to make covers in the days before photoshop, etc, I would type text, neatly cut around it rectangularly, and then stick that to black paper (so you had black text in a white box on a black cover). I would also photocopy store bought VHS covers and cut out the copyright info etc to give it a slightly professional feel. I would then photocopy the whole thing to 'flatten it' and then I would stick a colour postcard of the poster for the main picture.
