Thanks for sharing your thoughs. I'm surprised it doesn't work for you. There were only two parts in the original scene that I didn't like. My main problem was his full body shots where his legs were showing and were obviously not going fast enough, plus he's not leaning forward. Way fake. I remember disliking it when I first saw the film as a kid. The other was when the little girl on the train points to Clark and the mom looks over while Clark is still running alongside the train, and the mom still doesn't believe the girl. I took care of both of those problems.

As for your claim that his legs go too slow in my edit, I think your mind is playing tricks on you. If you watch it frame by frame, every time you see his feet you'll see that his steps match the ground perfectly. Most probably they filmed him actually running along the ground, with a train going very slowly, then sped the film up. As opposed to the shots I removed where he was pretending to run while being suspended from a moving vehicle.

You're right that the arms aren't moving fast enough in some clips, but it's not so bad that it ruins the scene for me. I'll see if I can improve it with motion blur though.

The "wahoo" never bother me. I think it fits for a high school kid.

I'm not sure if it's possible to completely cut the scene, even if I wanted to. You have to link the football field scene to the scene where he arrives at the farm ahead of his school mates, which leads to Kent Sr. explaining that Clark doesn't need to show off, which leads to him attempting to race Clark to the barn and having the heart attack. If you take out any of those scenes nothing fits together.
