I believe that Jesus' teachings have been misintepreted by christians and ruined by dogma and doctrine.

I also heard that reincarnation was originally mentioned in the bible but was taken out by the church at some point because they believed that if people knew thay had another chance they wouldn't 'behave' so well in this life. Not sure if that's true, but it's certainly feasible.

And yeah, I'm the same as you - not too worried about death itself, just the mode of death.
