Help me come up with the next Pixar movie

Guys, I need some help, and maybe you can have some fun while helping.

I'm trying to produce some kickass drawings/paintings for my portfolio so I can get a job as a concept artist at an animation company, but it's proving very difficult to force the work out of me. Without blowing my own trumpet, I'm a pretty good artist, but right now I'm lacking the neccessary inspiration and motivation.

I realised today that one of my main problems is that I just don't know what I should draw. When I was at university I had briefs, which made things a lot easier, and when I produced my degree film I wrote the story first, and then produced concept art based on that story. When I was a kid I had all these crazy ideas in my head that I would bring to life on paper - back then things were simpler: You drew for fun, not to get a job. There was no voice in the back of your mind pressuring you to create fantastic work.

That's where you guys come in. I need you to imagine you are head of Pixar, and you want me to produce some concept art for the next Pixar movie. What is the movie about? Who are the characters, and roughly what happens? I'm not looking for long detailed scripts here, just very brief (one paragraph) story outlines to get my imagination going, to inspire me, to get me excited and want to draw.

For example, an outline of Toy Story might be:

Toy Story is about the 'secret life of toys' when people are not around. A cowboy toy named Woody has it all. He is practically the leader in Andy's toy room, Bo Peep has the hots for him, and most importantly, he is Andy's favorite toy. But things change when Andy recieves a new toy for his birthday - Buzz Lightyear, a space cadet who thinks he is an actual space ranger, not a toy - and Andy loses his position as favourite toy. Woody's jealousy results in buzz being knocked out of the bedroom window, bringing the wrath of the other toys upon woody, who must venture out into the world to find Buzz...

Or, you could just say 'Toy Story is about the 'secret life of toys' when people are not around', or you could go into even more detail, describing scenes (like the Pizza Planet scene, or the 'claw' vending machine scene)

I'm sure some of you already have great ideas in your head for movies or animations, or maybe you want to just make something up on the spot. Anything goes. So far we've had toys, bugs, monsters, fish, superheroes and cars. What do you think Pixar will give us next?

Thanks

My idea for a Pixar movie?

Well, there's this really old book I have (out of print for years and years now) called "A Toad for Tuesday" about a toad who gets captured by an owl. The owl tells the toad he will eat him next Tuesday, and the toad must think of a way to escape. I'll read the book again and give you a more detailed synopsis, but basically, when Tuesday rolls around, the owl finds the toad was theo nly real friend he'd ever had, and decides not to eat him. It's a great story for kids, and Pixar could execute it perfectly.

Also, they don't have to animate ANY humans, so we wouldn't have that plagueing the animation. Once again, I'll give you a more detailed synopsis later.
Watch DarthEvil's Who Framed Darth Vader? video on YouTube!

Here's a sort of a wonderful fairy tale fable about a white knight who would do anything to win the love of a princess. he repeatedly slayed dragon after dragon in each town she sent him to, and after each venture, would bring back the head of the dragon's to prove his love for her. only after the gallant knight was defeated by a 10-headed dragon did the princess realize what she had taken so much for granted.

I had a dream about this years ago. great story. i'm sure it's been written before, but i love it anyway.

fluff it with whatever comes to mind, plus add a bit of comic relief and there you go. a pixar-ish movie. although the story in itself would work great as well. obviously a more serious tone...

Three words: Burgertime - The Movie.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Well ok, the one after that then. Anyone got any more ideas?

All you have to do in order to do a CGI film of any sort is to take an animal or an object, like toys, cars, a fish, wild animals, and put them in antropomorphic gag-filled adventures with pop culture references. That, combined with a modern soundtrack and celebrity voices makes an instant animation summer hit.

Apart from my "Burgertime - The Movie" idea, all I can think of it right now is a re-shoot of Hitchcock's Birds, as a comedy, from the point of view of the birds.

Well go ahead by my guest to take that one if you want to. Not really exactly sure what do you need a plotline for, though.

How about a movie called "Dead Presidents" where, when people aren't around, all the great heads of state on all the different forms of U.S. currency come to life and figure out how to reproduce for Disney's coffers.
I am fluent in over six million forms of procrastination.

The plotline is so I can draw scenes from the film. Like Ralph McQuarrie drew a Vader vs Luke painting, and a painting of Luke and Obi Wan arriving at the falcon in Mos Eisley - all before the movie was ever made.

Oh I see, concept art is what you wanna do. Well don't stick to one idea, although doing lots of stuff for one concept is cool. Try to show versatility!

I will, but right now I'm lacking inspiration big time, and I basically need someone to tell me what to draw.

This is a bit outta left field, but here I go:

The Great Wheel, or the Wheel of Life, whereby consciousnesses are distributed 'randomly' throughout the universe. This is based on Eastern Mysticism, but if you had some Eastern creatures with mixed-up consciousnesses, I think that could be really funny. Like somebody threw a stick in the spokes of the Wheel of Life, and a Panda Bear, a Dragon, a Fox, and an Elephant are incarnated with the personalities of creatures diametrically opposite in temperament. For instance, the Elephant is incarnated with the consciousness of a mouse; the Fox, a chicken; the Dragon, a small water lizard (?); and the Panda Bear, a salmon (!).

It was a long shot, but there you go...
MTFBWY. Always.

I like it. And what kind of story would arise from that situation?
