For the record, this man was not some sleazy guy. Yes he gave the world Hooters (the restaurant chain), but he also ran the Eastern Foods conglomerate, which includes the Naturally Fresh food line. He was a philanthropist, donating millions to the improvement of sports and fine arts programs across South Carolina. Sure, he built football stadiums and bought jumbotrons for football programs, but he also built one of the great fine arts centers. He even developed a collegiate major for motorsports engineering (yep, NASCAR is a college major now). He was considered one of the south's finest entrepreneurs.
Mr. Brooks, your mark on business will be remembered as a positive one. You will be sorely missed.
